Newton Lower Falls

One of Newton’s thirteen villages, Newton Lower Falls rests alongside the Charles River and is bordered by the Leo J. Martin public golf course. The village is a predominately residential community, though it does have a commercial district that runs into Wellesley and is known as Wellesley Lower Falls. Notable residents of Newton Lower Falls have included educator of Helen Keller and author Sarah Fuller and well-known painter Thomas Wilmer Dewing.

Landmarks of Newton Lower Falls include the Leo J. Martin golf course, the Woodland Country Club, and the Charles River Reservation. Close by to the village is also the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. In terms of education, Hills & Falls Nursery School and Echo Falls Preschool serve the Newton Lower Falls community. One can reach Newton Lower Falls by way of Interstate 95 and Routes 16 and 128.
